Terms of Service
Dinged isn’t released yet. These are draft terms in plain language. Final terms will be published before anyone outside our team can use the app.
The service
Dinged helps you capture, compare and share records of the condition of a rented home or vehicle. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
Not legal advice
Dinged may show notes about deposit law, with citations, for general information. That is not legal advice. For help with your situation, talk to a lawyer, a legal aid office or a tenant-rights organization.
Estimates, not quotes
Fair Charge ranges are estimates built from public data. They are not a quote, an offer, or a statement of what you owe or what a repair will cost.
You confirm every finding
Dinged proposes possible changes between two scans. You decide whether each one is new, already there, not damage, or normal wear. You’re responsible for the accuracy of what you enter (addresses, dates, deductions, notes) and for what you choose to share.
Scans have limits
Detection can miss damage, and it can flag things that aren’t damage. How often that happens will be published on our accuracy page.
Your content
Your scans are yours. You let us store and process them only as needed to run the service, such as hosting a record you choose to share.
Use it honestly
Don’t use Dinged to make misleading records, or to scan people or private spaces without permission.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Refunds go through Apple.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Dinged and its team aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, including the outcome of any deposit, damage or rental dispute.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Changes and contact
